MISTER APPLE

After the insectarium we were hungry for a snack. We happened upon this little ice cream/snack shop right behind the insectarium called MISTER APPLE. They served sno balls, ice cream. and all kinds of chocolate covered treats. We chose ice cream since it was so freaking hot outside.

Granddaughter - EVAN

Just a couple of pics from the weekend of Evan. She is now 1 1/2. She liked riding on the four wheeler with her POPS.

Visit to the Insectarium

Saturday we took Madilyn and her friend Emmy to the New Orleans Insectarium. I'm not much of a bug person but i did learn a few things. The girls got to pet some type of spitting cock roach (pic above). GROSS!!!!!! Willie and I watched a video about love bugs in a LOVE BUG! The butterfly exhibit was wonderful. I took so many pictures that I could probably scrapbook a whole album just on butterflys.
Emmy ate a chocolate covered cricket. Madilyn tried eating one but it didn't go so well. The chocolate chip cricket cookies smelled good but I could not bring myself to eat one.

Rayne Forest Event

Treasured Memories Rayne Forest Event - Here are a few pics from the event this past weekend. Paula, Karen and I had a blast. I SOLD OUT of 52 kit designs this past weekend and got 8 double page layouts completed. Karen made some awesome layouts in the classes she took. Paula got caught up on some pics as far back as 1986. When we weren't scrapbooking we were eating and touring the city of Rayne - THE FROG CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! If you have never attended one of Treasured Memories events I have to say it is a MUST. Janet and her girls put on an excellent event. Melissa even taught a Zumba Dance class. I took it and actually liked it and can't wait to take some local classes here. There next event is July 2011. You get a 6' table to yourself and plenty of floor space around you. Treasured Memories, Simply Scrappin', Scrapalicious, Scrapbook Girl and myself (kits) all had booths.

Sweet Tooth

If you have a sweet tooth and ever visit Rayne, LA you have to stop by the Candyland Cottage and Ice Cream Shoppe. They have any type of candy and gum you can think of. They also have ice cream and homemade fudge. Since I was on a scrapbook/anniversary weekend pictures had to be taken. Karen, Paula and I each found something that our sweet tooth was craving. Here are a few pics of our little outing at the candy shop. Karen found some gum when we were checking out. She had a name for it that Paula and I had never heard before. Look at her pic and see if you can guess what she called it.

BEST HUSBAND

I have the best HUSBAND in the world. He was willing to spend our anniversary weekend in Rayne, LA to let me scrapbook and sell kits. We had a wonderful time. Thursday night we ate at Fezzo's in Scott, LA. I highly recommend it. Awesome food. Friday and Saturday night we ate at Chef Roy's in Rayne. It was so good Friday we had to go back Saturday night. Willie found a bar right across the street from the Civic Center called FROG CITY BAR to keep him occupied during the day Friday. Karen, Paula and I stopped in to have a couple of drinks with him. Later that night I joined him at the bar. Needless to say we found out it was a younger crowd bar. We were the oldest in there. As I watched the "kids" play BEER PONG all I could think about was the germs being transferred by the ping pong ball from hitting the ground to the beer cups. When the night was over I deemed myself officially "OLD". Willie had to ask the bartender how to work the touch screen juke box so he is OLDER than I am b/c I know how to work those. Here are a couple of pics from the bar. Willie was not too excited that I asked the bartender to take a pic (as you can tell by his sign language in the pic). Karen just couldn't resist touching my husband's butt on the way out LOL LOL LOL!

4th of July

We had a fun and relaxing 4th of July weekend at Lake Rosemound at my friend Karen's camp. There was plenty of boat riding, playing in the sand, swimming, skiing and book reading involved. My husband found a set of ski's at the camp and decided since he had not done this in at least 15 years he should put on a show for us. And a show he did put on. Amazinly after only 3 tries he was up and out of the water skiing. Needless to say the onlookers at near by camps got a few laughs in and so did we. I took over 50 pics of him skiing but decided you only needed to be graced with one shot of his beer belly. Willie has been SORT of sore these past few days after his water skiing expedition. The beach area they have is just right. It has enough sand to haul a ton of it back into my car when we leave it. For the record, I HATE SAND. Can you technically have a beach without sand? That would be awesome if you could. When not at the beach or in the boat I was on the couch reading a book. I think Karen read almost two books this past weekend and I read one. It was a great 4th of July!
