4th of July Beach Trip

Here are a few pics from the beach on the 4th of July. Family pics didn't turn out that well. Too much sun. We are going back to the beach next week and will take some more.

Purging.....

Ok I am following my friend Heather's lead and purging all the needless mind blowing crap out of my house. Six 45 gal garbage bags later of stuff to give away and two to the trash I can now say I have PURGED! Unfortunately I am pretty sure I could fill six more bags if I wasn't so worn out from filling the first six. I have found out if I wait until I am completely disgusted with not being able to walk into my walk-in closet I get rid of more stuff. Although I do not suggest this! Thanks Heather for the inspiration to PURGE!

I'm a LUCKY DUCK...

Okay you just read how I won the mini laptop. Well now on to more great winning news. I also won a trip to the Simply Inspired event hosted by Simply Scrappin in Lafayette this October. My wonderful friend Melanie also won the chance to attend this event. I can't say winning this was easy as writing out the $30 check for the raffle to win the laptop. I actually had to work for this one. It was a scavenger hunt and we had to find the item in our scrapbook stash and be the first to the front of the room with the item. 50 items were called and I made it to the front for 8 items. Melanie made it to the front with 6 items. When the race was over the tickets were placed in a basket and two were drawn. Melanie's number was drawn first. I was so excited for her. One - because she won and Second - because I knew I couldn't let her go by herself that I would just have to suck it up and pay to go. LOL! Then the second number was drawn and I really screamed then. So we are on our way to Lafayette in October to meet several wonderful scrapbooking teachers - Teresa Collins, Margie Aslett, Jenni Bowlin, Layle Koncar, Debby Schuh and the wonderful magnificent TERI DAVIS!!!

NEW TOY

I am posting this entry on my new little toy I won at Scrappin' on the River this past weekend in Natchez. It is a mini HP notebook. For $30 worth of raffle tickets I won this lovely little computer. It came with a matching sleeve also. Needless to say Madilyn has used it more than me. While I was in Natchez I also received our new Dell laptop at home. I wish I would have known I was going to win it would have saved me some money. But I'm pretty sure between me, Madilyn and Austin we will put both of them to use.

I am looking forward to 4:30pm today, ALL ABOUT ME class tonight at Scrapbook and Co., Thursday afternoon at 4:30, a wonderful steak at Bowie's Tavern and two 1/2 days of scrapping with the best friends in the world!
